The actor apologized to the peeved screenwriter, who felt that Big B never acknowledged his ‘angry young man’ invention The 35-year celebrations of Sholay came with a bitter aftertaste for Amitabh Bachchan when Salim Khan in an interview accused the star of never giving the writer his due. Getting into action pronto the veteran star deemed it important to clarify any miscommunication. Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar had together written some of the biggest movie of Big B’s career charting the course to his stardom. Salim Khan remarked that the angry young man image of Big B was his creation - figments of which were gathered from his father’s career as a policeman. He also remarked that he is willing to sort out differences but the actor does not see anything to sort out at all. To this Amitabh has responded, “Salim saheb is absolutely right. It was he and Javed saheb who gave me Zanjeer and recommended me to Prakash Mehra and to so many other directors of the time – Manmohan Desai, Yash Chopra, Ramesh Sippy. I have never ever failed to acknowledge this fact. Indeed in the early years of my career, when I was questioned what would happen to me if Salim-Javed were to stop writing for me, I had categorically stated that I would also stop and finish,” he says. “Their contribution has been immense in my film career and I will never stop accepting that. I am extremely sorry if Salim saheb has felt otherwise. I wish to apologise to him and tell him that there has obviously been a miscommunication and that he should never feel that I have thought otherwise. He has been a respected senior for me and shall always remain one,” he adds. Speaking of his legacy, inherited from the Salim-Javed era of filmmaking, and whether the younger generation matched up to his phenomenal success, the Big B added, “Films are not some kind of a kingdom where one looks for a successor. Every artiste is big and important in their own world, especially the younger generation. I have admired them all. They all have their distinct identities and are doing extremely well. No one should be bracketed as wanting to emulate someone. That is wrong. They must be left alone to set their own standards and marks,” adds the 67-year-old actor.

I mean, c'mon, everybody's doing it these days! Anyway, after looking more closely into the Levine fashion adventure, it becomes clear that he's not one of those flaky celebs who visit the cutting room, glance at a stencil or two, and then head off to their next red carpet event. Levine's family has been in the rag trade for decades. His partner in the business is his dad, Fred, who has run the M. Fredric boutiques in Los Angeles for over 30 years. "This is a family affair," Levine told WWD. "What I wanted to avoid was the typical pitfalls that someone in my position can fall into. This is something grassroots. Most importantly, it's something that I work on myself. I collaborate on and approve every single piece of clothing in the line. I'm not just hawking something because I'm in a famous band."The men's and women's collections, which will debut at the Project trade show in Las Vegas this week, consist of jeans ($150-$180), T-shirts ($30), leather jackets ($1,250), dresses and wraps, and resemble Levine's current pared-down wardrobe. sexual misconduct allegations with Indian Hockey

Rubbishing allegations of sexual misconduct levelled against him by a woman hockey player, the Indian women hockey team coach, Maharaj Krishan Kaushik, on Wednesday said he was being framed in a sinister conspiracy.
Putting up a brave face while speaking to reporters in the national capital, Kaushik stated that weak players, who failed to make it to the national team and required such a controversy to boost their sagging careers, had filed the complaints.
"Nothing has happened. That girl had become the captain of the junior team, but her performance was not up to the mark. She fared very poorly in the tournaments. Everyone can see how she played on video cassettes that we have of the matches. We even invited her to a special coaching camp to improve her game. But if she feels that she cannot make it big, it is her problem," said Kaushik.
Kaushik's scathing comments signal the beginning of a bitter brawl that could bring more skeletons out of the closet for Hockey Indian, suggested media reports.
Meanwhile, Kaushik has withdrawn his name from the upcoming Asian Champions Trophy in South Korea on moral grounds, saying that he wanted to come clean from the scandal.
Expressing his disappointment with the players, he opined that all charges levelled against him were baseless and had absolutely no truth to them.
"I have been called for the meeting and I will keep my things over there with them. You will all get to know about the meeting. The allegations are all baseless and nothing is true," said Kaushik.
He added that hockey was his passion and that he would continue to promote the game once he was absolved of the scandal.
Meanwhile, Hockey India (HI) has set up a high-level committee comprising experts and former players to probe the matter.
The committee comprises of former hockey captains Zafar Iqbal and Ajit Pal Singh along with Sudarshan Pathak and Rajiv Mehta

Basically her main aim is to own a night club so she is pretending to be a stripper."
It can be recalled that Celina played a pole dancer in her debut film. "Yeah but there I was a cop who pretends to be a pole dancer. I was an undercover cop. Everyone comes to know at the end of the movie that I am an undercover cop. And here I am again pretending to be a stripper but not one actually I am just trying to get all the girls to work for my club." Apart from Celina it stars Govingda Celina and Rimi Sen in main leads. There was a general feeling that Konkona Sen-Sharma is playing a lesbian in her new film The President Is Coming. But the truth is something else. It's not at all like Shabana Azmi and Nandita Das's serious take on lesbianism in Fire. It's actually more like Dostana. Konkona's character pretends to be a lesbian to get her own way.She informs, "The President Is Coming is a very funny mock-documentary I cracked up when I was doing it. It's a for the film, and I don't mind. The film's release got postponed because of 26/11. I was in Rajasthan when it happened, and was really very worried when I saw the news on TV. So, though I was lucky not to be harmed, I was shocked and disgusted…The film didn't matter at that moment. But my other film Dil Kabbaddi got released, soon after the 26/11 incident. Some people liked the film, but not too many, I admit."Though she worked throughout the whole of last year, she didn't have too many releases. It's because Rituparno Ghosh's Sunglass and The President Is Coming got delayed. She's a lot to look forward to with the The President Is Coming and Luck By Chance.She adds, "Now I've Zoya Akhtar's Luck By Chance. Zoya had written the script so long ago. She knew what she wanted. I play a starlet. It's quite funny. My character is the lead in B-graders and is also the 'hero ki behen'. I had to keep dressing in different costumes. While one day I was a junior artiste of the 1930's, the very next day I was a nurse! Like Farhan's character, I too play a struggler in my own right."She has Wake Up Sid with Ranbir Kapoor in June. She says it's the impact of a role and the director that matters to her more than anything else. Looks like Koko is and will always try to remain unique and unusual.

The two were in Hong Kong on a stopover after a vacation in Thailand. The catwalk queen drank several cups of champagne provided by the store while picking out outfits for her boyfriend. Later the paparazzi followed the two into an open-air bar, Hince yelling at him to leave them alone.
